Brief info
Dorothy Helligar, a servant of our Lord Jesus, happy to be called in the ministry and served with God’s anointed the late Dr. Achille Helligar.
She was born in Jamaica to Cornelius and Cadian Hayle, and she is so thankful for Godly parents who loved God and took her to the Lord’s house on Sundays.
Dorothy was converted at seven, but at the age of fifteen she had an encounter with the Lord, she experienced such love and joy that words can’t explain. She was baptized and served the Lord there with all my heart. The New Testament Church of God brought a property, and the church grew. Dorothy served the Lord in many capacities like Sunday School Superintendent, Youth director, Sunday school teacher and clerk. The church had a school and she taught Pre-k.
In December 1967 Dr Achille Helligar and Dorothy were married, and on February 1968 they arrived in Nevis to do missionary work. They did everything until they trained the new converts. They loved and enjoyed every moment, as they saw souls come to Christ and the church grew. The first church building was built in Fountain Village and dedicated in 1968, and they dedicated the second building in Charlestown in 1978.
Their mission in Nevis was completed and they migrated to America in 1979. Dorothy became a stay home mom for a couple years and it allowed her to spend time with her seven kids and raised them up in the admonition of the Lord. In 1983, Dorothy worked at a day care center and in 1988 she worked for OCPS as a Paraprofessional, and after ten years she retired to further her education.
Dorothy obtained her AA degree at Valencia College and her BA from Nova Southeastern University. She taught First Grade at Orange County Public Schools in 2005 and she was ordained to the ministry December 19, 1999. Dorothy along with her late husband are the founders of Cry of His Coming Evangelistic Association, Cry of His Coming Assembly/Koinonia Ministries of Central Florida, On the Cutting-Edge Outreach Programs, KNEC (a community Outreach Program) and Global Kingdom Builders Conference (GKBC).
The Helligars gave up the pastorate in 2013, it was a joy to travel and to minister together. She is now the president of the Cry of His Coming Evangelistic Association, and she serves on the board of Directors for Global Kingdom Builders Network (GKBN).
She is also a part of Koinonia Ministries Intercessory prayer Team.
To God be Glory great things He has done.
